Paula,
Thanks so much for going to the trouble of doing that for me. There are some great ideas that I'm going to try.I have a question for you. A friend of my Moms at home has a grandaughter(5) just diagnosed with Autism. Her grandaughter is only using about 3 words(mammy&daddy)she still is unable to walk by herself so it's possible there is something else going on too but I didn't want to pry.She emailed me a couple of times to ask a few questions about treatments. Her daughter has major sensory issues with clothes, food etc.and when I asked her mom if they were brushing her or if they were using pecs she didn't know what I was talking about. The only help this child seems to be getting on a regular basis is PT. I told her to read the out of sync child and gave her a couple of suggestions from things that had worked for me but it made me wonder what kind of resources are available in Ireland. Do they have similar treatments for autism that we have here in the States? Do you know of anywhere at home that has a good reputation treating kids with ASD'S.I know your a busy lady these days but I know it would really help this woman out because she seems to be at a complete loss about how to treat her DD.

Teresa,

It sounds like there is more going on with that kid. I wonder if she's had an MRI, because I'm willing to bet that would turn something up, but I know what they are like over there.

I don't know much about treatment options available back home (I just know they suck compared to here), but I have a couple of friends I could ask. One is a special ed teacher, the other runs a support group for single parents. They are both based in Dublin though, but might be able to point us in the right direction. I will send them e-mails later.

Paula,
Thanks for the help! I really do appreciate it.How's the Christmas shopping going? I just mailed off my boxes to Ireland and guess what? There's a postal strike at home!
