I know you are the official encyclopedia of genetic mutations ( loved the X-Men analogy btw). I vaguely remember you talking about Siobhain and a bone popping symptom. Can you elaborate as I am looking at Ran's turned out hips and you know.....obsessing, lol.
The bone popping thing is called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
It is genetic, autosomal dominant, therefore you need to have one parent with it and it won't skip a generation. If either you or your DH are double-jointed, EDS might be something to think about. If you are not, then I woudl worry less, although often a kid will have a more pronounced version than a parent (i.e.. if can progress through generations).
Some papers and sites: I just C&Ped from my list. I haven't really weeded through this lot.
beighton scale of hypermobility (I score between a 5 and a 9 (out of 9) on this depending on who performs it. And yes. I can do the hand on the floor thing) http://www.hypermobility.org/beighton.php
