my son started guitar lessons last fall and is doing great! together we shop for music books. we listen to odd radio stations so he is exposed to a variety of music. he prefers to play guitar instead of video games. at the last family gathering, he shocked my family with his abilities. it's been a boost for his self confidence. i love to hear him play guitar as i prepare dinner.

oh thanks for that. Great idea.

And thanks for the guitar thing. Mike has an electric. In fact we have 4 different guitars in the house. I play, DH is trying to self teach, emily is taking lessons and Mike wants too. Only every other similar thing in the past has gone not so great so I have been reluctant but just a few hours ago I found a place that may take him!!!! and may work. She said we could even do family lessons so maybe Mike and I could take the lesson together and lower stress levels. I love hearing music in the house too.

For our musician it is Cait. She takes clarinet and practices all the time.

Do have have to keep it too one? lol

Cait- the girl is all smiles. She is just the sweetest thing and a love to be around. Unless she is mid meltdown she is never in a bad mood and lifts your spirits.

Mike is an awesome helper. Once that kid learns a routine it is ingrained for LIFE! I am one mom who can count of if I tell him to do laundry or unload the dishwasher, once I have him focused it is going to be done right!

OH and another thing with Mike, he gives the most awesome hugs which he saves pretty much exclusively for MOI! He still kisses me good bye every morning. What mom wouldn't love that!

Both kids are FABULOUS with small children. We are fortunate to be around a few babies, some with special needs, and my kids are great. Cait can hold and play with my friends 2 little girls forever! One baby has down syndrome and man she and Cait have just this connection and the EYE CONTACT, WHOA!

Mike has this little buddy. It is another friends 9mo old. This baby was very premie and now is starting to show some ASD signs but he and Mike are like brothers from another mother. Mike is always thinking of K. In fact if he is going to see K, Mike will put on an orange shirt because K loves to look at orange.

I could go on and on and on and on......

Oh and there is always that creative streak. I could post the link to News 555 again! That is a great one.

Well, Liam went from the 5th -14th percentile in reading and from the 10th to 50th in math. That means he's all caught up with math and getting there with reading....yea. His teacher this week said next school year they are going to start to transitioning him more in reg ed...I'm nervous but very hopeful!!! Oh and Cian earned a stripe in karate for learning a new Tae Kwon Do form.

Henry recently learned to read, and he has been reading Junie B. Jones books nonstop to everyone who will listen. I think it's wonderful. And I'm glad those books are cute!

On Friday I asked Peter if he wanted to go to "D's" house for a playdate, and he responded "No". When I asked him why, he

I have two positives to share. Hannah, my not on the spectrum but oh so close kid, made some new friends this weekend while we were camping. I can't tell you how huge that is for her. She actually approached the girls and said HI! Joe and I were really celebrating. We are so proud of her.

Kyle was very helpful and mature while we were camping. He walked the dogs on his own initiative. He helped Joe hook the camper up to the truck and put up all the jacks. He's acting so grown up. And he layed down in the grass without a shirt on. Joe was like, Samantha look, look! He used to scream if you tried to set him down in the grass when he was little.

Its been a great weekend.

Oh, check out Magic Tree House books. It is about the same reading level and Junie B. Jones and it is high interest for aspie type boys. The boy character in it is very close to that and there is always some history or science in them. Kind of like chapter book versions of the magic school bus.

Yesterday, during his birthday party, Isaac continually encouraged his friends while they were bowling.
