Hi all!
Just had a couple of minutes, so I thought I'd write a quick update on Tyler's surgery. He did really well!! He was very nauseated from the anesthesia, but was able to go home about 1pm (surgery was at 8:30am). He slept most of yesterday and kept an ice pack on his throat all day. He's doing much better today though!!! He doesn't like the Tylenol w/codeine, so we've already switched him to regular Tylenol. He already feels the difference....breathing much better now!!!
The dr said that his adenoids were as large as his tonsils!!! So there was lots of blockage thru his airway. I'm really glad we finally got this done!
He was hilarious after they gave him some medicine to start making him sleepy. I've never seen him all drugged up!! But he made us laugh!!
Well, gotta go....Tyler's wanting something to eat now!!

Hugs to Tyler, what a guy!!! Here's to a speedy recovery!

Thanks everyone! He seems to be doing ok still. His biggest problem, other than the throat pain, is that he's really weak. He just looks sooo exhausted. I've also noticed that he's not as whiny as I thought he'd be. My little boy is growing up!! He's still wanting mommy.....but he's doing great with tolerating the pain.
Yesterday, he had me doing everything. He didn't want dad doing anything. The only thing dad did for him was helping him get around. Tyler would crush me if he fell on top of me. Dh thinks that's funny!! Tyler also did real well sleeping lastnight. We have these xmas bells that we hang on our front doorknob, so I gave those to Tyler so he could ring them if he needed me at night. He only rang them twice. Once at 9pm and then at 5:45. So, he did really good. Dh checked on him around 11pm, before we fell asleep.
Nathan is still oblivious about the whole thing. He doesn't really understand the whole surgery thing. Which is good...otherwise he'd be sooo worried. He's only a little upset because he has no one to play with. But he's been real patient.

Sounds like things are super!!! Good for you guys!! You DO NOT want to go thru what we did and end in ER. Maybe it's an age thing too. Jacob was only 5y. (tomorrow is his b-day!!!)
I think what was bad for us was I had to get Jacob's bipolar meds down him too. It just wasn't a fun experience for us that first week or so.

Michelle,
I'm glad Tyler got through the surgery so well, and that Nathan was protected by his autism so he didn't worry. I hope Ty is feeling stronger and better. Surgery is very draining (on everyone), no matter what age you are!
(((hugs)))
