Oh Christine...I am so glad to hear I am not the only one with a wiping issue still. I thought since we mastered using the potty that we may be able to to master wiping faster. It has been 2yrs and he still does not understand it is something he needs to do. We have tried to explain it to him and have him help us when we wipe him with zero luck. Maybe this next year will be the magical year... then again maybe not... I am just thankful he uses the potty at this point.
I'm not sure about the pull-ups. I only used them after my son was 95% trained and then only at night to prevent bed wetting. I was at wal-mart a few months ago and some granny was there with her grandchild who could not have been more than 2. She was buying underpants for the girl and granny kept saying "You're a big girl now." This girl was so little that I wondered how she would feel if it turned out that she was not such a big girl after all. The pressure must be awful. I would say if he's resisting the potty to just back off. Maybe get the school to lighten up too. You don't want him to feel bad about himself because he hasn't mastered it.
