I'm just updating my Malcolm (age 8, PDD-NOS) updates to say that he is continuing to do so well! The new more challenging school is terrific and he is making great strides in self-regulation, pushing his comfort areas, and making new friends. The Zoloft takes the edge off and his anxiety is lower, we continue to use the digestive enzymes and keep his diet pretty clean. And the progress he is making is astronomical.
2 nights ago, after a stressful Little League game (that's coming along, too, but still hard going), Malcolm remembered that I had promised to buy "Hoodwinked" at DVD store. It was 7pm on a school night, I was exhausted, and I refused to go out with him at that hour and get the movie. Anyways, I pointed out to him, it was too late to get the movie and come back and watch it before bestime, anyways. He started to melt down. I told him I wouldn't stand for it, I was tired, that wasn't going to work, and if he insisted on crying and yelling, he was losing his next day privileges and getting a VERY difficult mother for the rest of the evening to boot.
He calmed down, went into his computer, looked up the DVD store, found the DVD online and started to order it, calling me in for my credit card (and permission). The DVD will arrive in a few days, and he is right proud of himself.
HA! I told dh I may be in trouble now, 'cuz sure as shooting Mr. Photographic Memory now knows the entire process for ordering online with my credit card! Fortunately, so far he will also think he has to ask permission lol!

Sara,
It's great news that Malcolm is doing so well.
Altho that would be one interesting call to the credit card company: "Well, not stolen, exactly. I have it right here... No he's only 8. Yes of *course* it's in a safe place.... ...PHOTOGRAPHIC, not pornographic. No... Look. Did you ever see Rainman? Well it's nothing like that..."
Yep. I'd like to be eavesdropping in on that one! ;)
