That binder of yours is growing so fast, I had some funny visuals of you preparing for future IEP meetings, LOL. You might want to plan some purchases for your binder's transporation:
September: a wheelie briefcase January: A carry on-luggage-sized wheelie March: a suitcase June: a wheelbarrow October: an SUV Dec '07 -flatbed truck.
I just thought I'd share. BTW in my imagination, the binder never gets full, just cartoonishly large)
Funny, funny -- the flatbed truck, gave me a big chuckle.
The Malcolm file is so big now it has it's own file cabinet drawer. But I take in and out what I want to have ready at my fingertips, which isn't much as our solution has been to have him in schools that specialize in teaching gifted chldren with disabilities... So basically, the IEP says "go to the right school, with needed services"! And the BOE just stamps it "approved", end of story.
And my file drawer, besides the updated info, is NOT organized right now, because I keep pulling stuff I need to copy to give to a recent dx mom or fax an article to a Malcolm pal mom, etc. and then I just toss it back in the drawer. Highly inefficient, EXCEPT all the Malcolm stuff always goes into the same file drawer so I can always find it with a little digging...
And for me, that is extremely organized. Now to dig out the tzx receipt drawer so I can get a chunk of change back!
Thanks for posting about Prozac, Zoloft, etc. Malcolm continues to do very well on the Zoloft, so of course I am interested in any information I can get my hands on. And we do give him the Clonozapem for lowering of sports games stress. He also takes the digestive enzymes, omegas, probiotics and good multivitamin, plus we basically keep him off milk and wheat products (with occasional pizza breaks). So far so good. This really is trial and error, and I have been so inspired by your example.
I avidly read all your posts, trying to see if I can follow and comprehend what you write... Plus I'm just glad you are so into research, as I never could tolerate all that technical reading you must do!
I will also print this info out, so I can toss it in my aforementioned file drawer.
LR, thanks for posting this!
