Psychiatrist appointment and med changes

So, the psych appointment went pretty long today. I'm glad she's giving me time but she also seems to feel a bit tentative about our plan. I'd prefer some more confidence, but psych meds being what they are.........at least she's being honest. We won't know if it works until we try it.

Graham is on Risperdal, Concerta, and Paxil right now, but his anxiety level at school is definitely causing some challenges. We tried upping the Paxil, but it actually made him a little more agitated. So the plan is to simulataniously wean him from the Paxil and put him on to Celexa around the spring break time, to try to minimize school disruption. Right now they're about to do the standardized testing, so no changes until after that is over.

I wish there was a blood test to tell which med would work best instead of this trial and error thing. He's anxiety level is pretty high and I don't relish him being without anything to stablize him if the Celexa bombs out.

So I sit and wait until the ISATs are over and then jump into the water.....Ahh! At least I have you ladies to lean on if all heck breaks loose. But I'm being to negative. This may work great. Let's hope so.

Wow sorry that is hard. I hate that with meds too, how you won't know how they will work with certain people.

I hope that everything works out.
