Punching Bag?

My aspie has tendency of punching things when he gets upset. Mostly his wood frame bed and the wall. The concern is always that he will get violent with us or his two year old brother. My husband and I have talked about getting him a punching bag to give him a more positive outlet for his anger and honestly wear him out faster. My mom said that punching out of anger is never a good thing and getting him a punching bag would therefore only re-enforce the bad behavior.

What do you think? Thanks?

I think that you can teach that hitting a pillow or a punching bag is a good alternative to hitting a person.
