Question About Services

Has anyone ever had wraparound service? Stephanie's pyschologist recommended she have a specialist follow her and me, around a few hours each day and guide Stephanie with how to respond to things and interact. I don't know how that would work with homeschooling, but was wondering if anyone else had that service. I guess if your kids are in school they have special services and won't need that. If no one has, I remember a woman I used to know who had that done so I will try to find her, but am curious about this service.

Thanks.

We had a behavior specialist come in and meet with me weekly for a few months to come up with some ideas for the kids. DH and I both specialized in autism for our jobs but it helps having an objective POV. He wasn't particularly helpful because, but it did get me motivated to get some programs in place at home and also jogged my memory on some interventions.

p.s. Ours was provided by the state dept. of developmental disabilities. There are often state agencies that will provide this type of service, or you can even ask the local school district as part of an IEP if you can have consultation from an autism specialist.
