HI,

My 7 year old daughter just started on the liqiud form of Zoloft. She is PDD

and has lots of anxieties. Has anyone else used this? Did it work for you?

Any bad side effects?

Thanks for any help

My ds used it for a short amount of time. He is ADHD, but has a lot of anxiety and asperger/OCD traits. It worked great for his anxiety, but decreased inhibitions and as such increased hyperactivity. Mike is pretty high in the hyperactivity scale anyway so it didn't work out for us. I did like the affects on his anxiety though, so if your dd is not hyper it may work out well for you.

None of my kids have taken it but I did when I was finnishing up my Phd. It was a very trying time for me because Jade had just been born and we weren't sure if she was going to live or not. Depressing was an understatement. One of my proffesors, who was an MD prescribed the zoloft so I could get through my thesis deffence.

It seemed to work ok for a while but that didn't last long. I have ADHD and the hyperactive part of me kinda counteracted the meds. I didn't see any outward side effects though, so it should be worth a try.

Peace,

My 8yo DS has just stopped taking Zoloft. As Renee said, it helped with the anxiety, but made him hyper-hyper and also increased his tics (it is actually supposed to reduce tics, go figure!) He had some good effects, but they only seemed to last a week or so, then we upped the meds and it worked for a week or so and so it went on.
