Hi,

I don't know where else to turn right now, but my son ran away from school and he doesn't want to go back today.

*hugs* I hope you can get some answers soon. Haley (10 with Aspergers/Anxiety) hasn't had voices (that I know of) but has had issues with seeing things. Back in 3rd grade, she got into trouble because she was running after her "imaginary friends" in the lunch room trying to shoot one of them because they killed one of her other imaginary friends. These were all Nintendo characters btw. Talking to her child psychiatrist, he said it was really just an outward display of her thoughts and not to be concerned unless she thought these characters were in fact real. She said she knew they weren't real so we haven't made a big deal about it. She doesn't seem to have this trouble anymore thankfully.

Does your son understand that these voices are not really voices? I don't really know anything about hearing voices either so I can't really give any advice but it sort of sounds like he just has a lot going on in his head that he's having trouble sorting out. I would definitely speak to a professional about it though.

Hang in there!

Oh dear, I can just hear your concern from all the way over here and it breaks my heart. I back up with the others have said, to talk to your doc and get a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist -Better err on the side of caution.

There could be a lot of explanations for "hearing voices".
