My son who is 10 and being tested, is like that. I just hand him a gameboy, some books (or turn on a tv) just so I can hope he stays in bed and I can go back to sleep lol.

Its very frustraiting when they won't sleep. (I feel even more sympathy for you with a baby).

Now I don't know if it will help, but my 7 and 10 flips out when there's a change in schedule (like christmas vacation being 3 weeks long) so I go find things for them to do, like at a rec dept (day camp), a craft place that gives classes, or take them bowling.... (the day camp is the best tho, since I can drop them off, and get a break myself lol we all need that!) anything to get them into a schedule. It really helps, and sometimes it still is bad.
(my youngest flipped out that his favorite teacher isn't there from last summer when he went to day camp during the summer... sigh... what can you do but keep them busy).

Another thing I have found that has helped, is during the day say (very concretly) some on rules on waking grandma and you. My kids would freak out if I said at 7 oclock "Time for your showers". They would get very agressive behavior from something they didn't expect... hitting, screaming, pulling hair, but then awhile back I realized if I mentioned to them, during the day, several times that tonites the night for a shower, they would comply so much easier!

I have never been able to control the sleep thing..... my son is 10 and he wakes me up 3-5 times a week, sometimes 3 times a night. Sometimes he is fully awake, and sometimes he sleep walks. My 7 yr old does wake me up, but not as often as my 10 yr old...

I feel for you! Can you get your son to do something while your up with your baby? Are their certain things he likes, like books, gameboys? I think that might help you so much.
