I did bring proof but I can't remember if they asked me for it. However, Mike was with us and was having trouble with the line just waiting for the pass so we really didn't need proof. I would bring it just incase.
I brought 2 pages of his IEP. The present level page where it said he had an ASD diagnosis and the special factors page where it said that his autism caused him to have behavioral difficulties with things like waiting in lines, big crowds, etc. I was lucky enough to have that specifically documented because it can be a big problem. I highlighted those 2 sentences.
Make copies of whatever information you currently have that may be applicable. I don't think you need what I had, even just something that said he is ASD would work. If not see if you can get a quick letter from a doc or his teacher stating that he does, etc

When we went, we had a letter from the principal of his ASD school stating that his extremely high sensory issues made the long lines intolerable for him. We also were never asked to show the letter, plus he was off running with his cousins, aunts and uncles rather than wait IN the LONG LINE to get the passes... So they really never saw him, either.
We got passes for 3 kids and 2 adults, but as it happened, the other 3 adults often got waved through to heads of lines along with us. Noone really looked hard at the passes!
Lovely, lovely day, one of Malcolm's fav memories.
