Congrats!

Murmurs are common. Unfortunately for me I deliver at a hospital that is WAY too careful and NICUed my little girl for the common murmur. My pediatrician and I had to fight to get her released from the hospital, even after all the tests were done. My previous baby they wanted to do a spinal tap for no reason and kept her in the NICU for nine days for non-existent apnea and then sent her home (again, after a lot of fighting on our part) with a monitor!! The only time it ever went off was when a lead was loose.

Drs.

Anyway, I am so happy that you had a good delivery and assume your BP is normal. The first time I went to the hospital not feeling right I thought it was BP. They checked and I was fine and wanted to send me home (I was only 28 weeks) but I kept insisting there was something wrong. They finally checked my cirvux after five hours and said I was dilated to a 4! I had been having contractions all that time and had no idea. My symptoms were blurry vision, nausea, and warmth (it was January 2 and I was walking around outside in short sleeves!)

WOW! What a BEAUTY!

Congrats Dee. As you may have seen from another thread we were all wondering if maybe you were off having that girlie!

As to the heart thing. Dave actually had a hole in his heart that is common in babies. It sealed itself after a day or so, until then he had a very odd heart beat and murmer. I was told that was fairly normal. He had a murmer up to about 3 or 4 and even still it comes through occasionally but will go away as he gets older and it has not affected him in any way.

BTW I had a heart murmer as well until I was at least Dave's age. Both he and I have been to ped cardiologists as kids and both were completely normal things in childhood. But when they tell you something about the heart it is always enough to make you a tad crazy isn't it.
