Roan's official OT eval!

I received Roan's written OT eval today....bloody heck was I spot on...scary! Except I was very surprised at how behind she is in terms of fine motor and graspng. She tests at 20 months for grasping and she's 38 months now...yikes!! 21st percentile for fine motor...not too bad, bu not great either. Just goes to show how well our kids can successfully "hide/adapt" their disabilities.

It's always hard to see things written down. Especially when you think -compared to the other kids, that she was doing so well. We were like that with Siobhan.
I remember Himself reading her evaluations and being completely gobsmacked. He had been utterly convinced she was at peer level (or ahead!), because compared to Pete at a similar age, she was so advanced. Sometimes it takes a professional to run the tests before you can really tell what's going on.
I mean, what do *we* know from "normal"?

That's just it Paula. *Compared* to the other two she seemed so advanced...but what the heck do I know about normal or NT anyway, lol.

I wish I knew what normal was. I have to keep asking people when babies do what...because everything I knew...or thought I knew was wrong. And while I think Zane is okay....cause he babbles....I keep it in the back of my mind that there is a chance he too could be on the spectrum. And he has showed a few little signs here and there....like he stopped saying momma...he doesn't always respond to his name (not too concerned over this one cause he does do it) He isn't scared of people or strangers at all (actually more worried about this one) Today at Tumble Town he sat down on some other ladies lap...and begged this other mom to pick him up! He also crawls and walks in circle which I think is odd.
I am glad Roan is getting OT help....I hate reading reports...they make me sad.
