Isn't it funny whenthey floor us like that:)

I could be off base here; but I have been led to believe that a dx of any of the PDD's can disqualify a military applicant. I know once dx with classic BP this is the case. This actually flaberghasts me as you would assume certain ASD adults who have made it through childhood and adolesence and with their penchant for rules and rule following they would be perfect candidates

I especially think of Forest Gump...I've always thought he was a wee bit spectrum.

wow, that would floor me too! esp if he'd never talked about it. I do think that some aspies would do well in the very structured rule oriented environment. My oldest is now 16 and has been talking about joining the army-- his obsession has long been military strategy, starting w/ the middle ages. He knows very specifically about lots of battles and the military strategy behind them. I have a feeling he'd be a little surprised about how difficult whole basic training is and taking and doing all orders barked at him. There are lots of good things about the military esp Air Force.
