Rotary/Spinning board?

DS's OT wants him to do some Astronaut Training at home...she mentioned there is a place where we can buy the cushioned, spinning board that they can sit or lay down on. We don't have the time/patience/motivation to make one ourselves.

Does anyone know where we can buy one? I've done internet searches, but haven't come up with much.

Thanks!

I have found a bunch of OT stuff from specialty online catalogs. See below.

I don't know your son's age or ability level. If he is older or pretty well balanced,

I'm with Paula on the balance board idea.

I have been getting a lot of OT things in the fitness section of (any) department stores.

I haven't checked for your item specifically, but a couple of sites where we've found good things are:

abilitations.com

therapro.com

A lot of the stuff is on the expensive side, but I have fun looking at all the fun things I'd get if we ever had the money.

Before we knew that two of my kids were AS, I was trying to find a Christmas toy that all the kids could enjoy (2 high energy kids, 2 low energy) and that didn't have a lot of pieces since they ALWAYS leave the pieces out, carry/throw them around and lose them within 24-hours of getting anything new. I stumbled across the above listed therapy products catalogs and found a "dizzy disk" that we love (it's funny that so many gifts I got the kids that year were therapy items, but I didn't realize WHY my kids would enjoy them so well, I just knew it it suited them). The disk it can be used at different levels by all ages. It's not padded, tho'.

The dizzy disk is like a sit-n-spin, but it doesn't have the center column to hang onto. You can lie down on it, kneel on it, sit cross-legged on it, or stand on it. It can adjust from a flat surface to an angled surface with an easy lever, and then you get a bit of a roller coaster type effect when riding. It's been a favorite toy of my kids and their friends and has been very durable. It was a bit pricey at somewhere around $60, I think.
