I posted this over on the Spec Ed board, but thought it would be best to post overhear too after a few people in chat wanted to read it.

This is really incredible. I guess the school must have been clairvoyant. For the last 5 years they must have somehow sensed my need for attention and started calling me on the phone and emailing me about my son's behavior. It was so easy to get them to fall for my little trap, bwahaha! Anyway, I'm fessing up now and I think the only solution is for them to force me to go cold turkey. I know it's cruel but they have to do it. No more calls about the kid he smacked on the bus for "looking" at him funny. No more messages about him screaming at the cafeteria lady about the pizza. Or about the bag a chips that he "expoded" all over the hallway because he lost a game at recess. No more emergency meetings about him running away from the principal and hiding, totally freaking her out.. I'm a sick woman and I need a cure. Ooooops. I forgot. We are supposed to avoid anger and sarcasm.

This is just unbelievable. Just another way for the school to stay "in control" and overrule the parents. Makes me so angry.

I am very much like Heather... I hate to get into confrontational situations. Mostly because I get over-anxious and end up crying because I get emotionally worked up. Just like when I had to call the bus garage recently and complain about the bus driver that laid on the horn when Haley was crossing the street. I started crying because I was so angry about the situation. I'm sure the guy thought I was insane. I end up feeling like an idiot even if I know I'm right. But that definitely doesn't mean I won't fight for my daughter's rights. I just don't enjoy it and will avoid a battle if at all possible.

This is just a horrible thing all the way around. :(

This is total BS. Where is this defined in the DSM? has has the American Psychiatric association (or whatever it is called) approved and ratified this "diagnosis"?

Wow, that is scary.

Once I went to school to observe my son. The principal sat with me, and watched with me and kept saying,"See? this is what its like everyday. What a happy child. He's such a pleasure......." etc. She seemed like a complete bimbo to me, because in the meantime, while my child was indeed smiling and cute and not making trouble, he was completely ignoring a little girl who was trying desperately to engage him, talking to his artwork, muttering to his playdoh when he wanted to engage a peer, getting trampled by his peers who were beating him to sign up for center time, etc.. It was clear that my little guy had no clue about social behavior, and she kept going on and on about how he is "this good" or "this happy"
