School lunches and the IDEA law

Hello all! It's been a while I know...been busy with EVERYTHING! Anyhoo....today I went to ds school to get an idea of how he is doing and what needs improvement. In the midst of all that's been going on lately, I found out that both of MY parents carry a gluten sensitivity gene. Soooo..... I want to get ds tested for gluten/casein sensitivity/allergy. I told the school this today as a "forewarning" that he may have diet restrictions if the tests come back positive for allergies/sensitivity. I was under the impression by all that I have read, that since school meals are a part of school services, that they are REQUIRED (under the IDEA law)

Jen,
Sorry. I can't answer your questions. This goes outside my area of experience.
You may want to post these questions on the Special Education Plans board.

Hi Jen,
I agree with Paula that the ladies on the special ed board may know the ultimate answer.
Thanks for your input girls! Paula, I posted my question on the other board, and I will see what I can find out. I will post any updates I get on this subject to save others from this frustration!
