School problems already

This school year was a mess from the get go. We were expecting to move this month because dh was being medically discharged from the military. However, thanks to the high and mighties on the board, that has been delayed another 6 months. Haley was expecting to start 5th grade in St Louis and was excited about it. Now we find out we are going to have to start the school year here. But that isn't the biggest problem anymore.
School starts Sept 5 here. Just last Friday, I got a letter from the school stating that the 15:1 program Haley was in is now being moved to the other elementary school in the district. That is a MAJOR problem because two years ago, when we moved here, Haley went to that school, had serious anxiety problems and was treated so badly by the faculty that it was very traumatic for her. We ended up having to pull her out and have a home tutor for the remainder of that year. Last year, before the start of the school year, we had a CSE meeting because we finally got her dx. They suggested the 15:1 program and we all agreed on it. Would give her a nice round of support to start the year and we could then ease her back to a mainstream class. It was also a good choice because it was at the 2nd elementary school. That was good because we all agreed that sending her back to the 1st school was not in her best interest under the circumstances. Believe me... it was REALLY BAD!!!!
Anyway... the letter says her program is being moved to the 1st elementary school and that room assignments would be forthcoming. I tried calling the person about this but they weren't in. I'm calling back tomorrow. If they think they are moving her back to that nightmare of a school, they have another thing coming!
It just makes me so angry because her 3rd grade year was so bad. She was a complete mess. Her anxiety got so bad that she would bite and pick at her skin til she had blood everywhere. It was horrible and the school was no help at all. In fact, they made it worse most of the time. They treated her like a disease that needed to be isolated. Although I understand the concerns over the blood of course. Not faulting them for that.
But last year was wonderful. She did so well at the other school and actually LOVED it there! We were finally back on track and she was excelling! She finished the year with an 86 average!! And now they want to undo it all?? Nope... don't think so! >:o(

Oh man, this simply stinks! (((((Hugs to both of you.)))))

Thanks Amy. I'm really hoping we can get this worked out without too much of a battle. I think she would probably be ok in the mainstream class at the school she is at. And since we should only be here for a few more months, it makes more sense to leave her where she's at. Where she is comfortable and where things are more familiar to her. Bouncing her around is only going to make things so much worse. Hopefully they will understand and see things my way.

you know I was thinking that myself. Can she get a 1:1 as well; this will be a huge help I know. Goodness all these school battles; why do these people have to make it so f'n hard??? Grrrr

Wow, thats like putting my son back in the same classroom with the same teacher as last year and it was a year of hell. He couldn't cope and completly missed the last two months of school and then some.
I sure hope you can work it out because I totally understand the "I Don't Think So!"
