That type of thing happens in our county...I only found out last week about Tony's ESY and the IEP mtg was 4/1.

Amy, I would be pleasantly persistent and call back again.

A couple of other acronyms you will want to know:

LRE - Least Restrictive Environment

BIP - Behavioral Intervention Plan

FBA - Functional Behavior Assessment

AT - Assistive Technology

OT - Occupational Therapy

PT - Physical Therapy

IEE - Independent Educational Evaluation

MDR - Manifestation Determination Review

IAES - Interim Alternative Educational Setting (alternative school - usually having to so with suspension)

FERPA - The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (what allows the schools not share your information with anyone outside the district without signed permission)

I am sure there are a lot more.

Thank you very much. You guys are all so helpful. I picked up a book at the library yesterday, its called Autism Spectrum Disorders, The Complete Guide to Understanding Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and Other ASDs by Chantal Sicile-Kira. I am hoping that it will help and not confuse me more. There was one more I got but after getting home I decided I may not read it, not sure yet. Its a story about a mother and sons journey with his and how he got it from imunizations. This book I have has a gold circle on the front that says Ourstanding Book of the Year, Autism Society of America. So hopefully I will find lots of things in there for me to understand things better. Thanks again. I am loving it here.
