LR, there's a company here in AZ that makes a seizure monitor based off the standard apnea monitor that only costs $120. It has a soft strap that goes around the chest with sensors and a remote transeiver to a small remote alarm that can be mounted on a wall or even hardwired into a household alarm system (is ADT and LifeAlert compatable if I remember right). Like an apnea monitor it emits a shockingly loud claxton that can be heard a long ways away. I just checked, but I didn't see any website for them. HUH!

Would something like that work for you? I can get you the information. It's the company we bought my DH's apnea monitor from.

Just a random idea in the meantime while you are trying to get the seizure monitor, would be to put a video monitor in her room. My daughter has a rare fever disorder (PFAPA) and has had a few febrile seizures due to it. The first time she was napping and I just happend to hear some kinda noise in her room. It really scared me to think what if I had not walked by her room and opened the door, becuase she also foamed at the mouth and vomited.

Anyway so since then I keep a video monitor with the volume turned up super high on nights she has fevers. Anyway sorry I can't give you any other advice...LOL you probably already have a monitor too. I agree there should be something out there for people who have epilepsy etc...I hope you are able to find the item the previous person mentioned. Good luck :)

Interesting, whenever, I had seizures, it was exactly the same situation. But I also noted that I used to get only in the early part of the sleep cycle. My mom and I slept on the floor on a mattress. Every single time, I found that it was when I went to bed early and after the seizure, I would see my mom sitting next to me.

So I never went to any place or slept on a train or bus (basically, we used to use a lot of public transportation in India).

GOod luck and lets keep our fingers crossed that she doesn't get siezures any more.
