She had a seizure.

Some weeks should just not exist I think. When it rains it pours.

I think Cait had a generalized seizure this afternoon at church. We were half way through the stations when I start to hear a crash. I look over and she is going down face first onto the floor and shaking. Took a few seconds to get her to respond and I walked her outside. She was pale as a ghost and has a nice bruise on her chin.

For those who haven't been around for a while, Cait has a history of partial seizures and an abnormal EEG. She was on seizure meds for 4 years. We seemed to be past the worst of it and she didn't have any significant seizures for over a year and she had started her period a year before, so we weaned her seizure meds last summer.

She told me after "I thought it was like those other times I see spots and then it clears" WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course she never thought to tell me that was happening. Those all could have been tons of partial seizures.

Heading to the doctors in 5 minutes. Couldn't get a hold of the neurologist so I am going to the peds office to hopefully at least get some help prior to the weekend. Maybe they can get in touch with the neuro.

Thank you all again.

LR, I am going to look into DMG. I am calling the ped and neuro this week. Since she has entered puberty, Cait's physical stuff is changing way to dramatically. She looks way low tone to me, drawn, weak. Her school grades are not doing well. She was getting horrible PMS. I just know she is not right.

Theresa, thanks for the email addy too. I may do that. I am worried now because she really has been off for the last 2 days. Her PMS had been getting better but she is way off. I know she may be PMSing but this is ridiculus. She complains that she is tired even when she first wakes up and tired all day. She has been napping. She has been very emotional and easily frustrated. Ticcing more, stimming more, etc. Anyway, it has me nervous so I am calling tomorrow.

Thanks all again for the support.

Poor baby. No wonder she's not feeling ready for school to start tomorrow. Hopefully you can get her in to see someone right away tomorrow.

I'm thinking about you and Cait and hope she's feeling better soon.

Once again you have way out thought me and I am completely baffled by your ability to comprehend this stuff, lol.

It makes sense, but what do you make of this. First, Cait hasn't started her period this month yet and she had her blood sugar tested today at the doctors and it was fine. Would this still fit in with the theory?

Renee, I am so sorry, when it rains it does seem to pour. I used to have seizures as a teenager. I took meds for a very long like 17 yrs to 25 yrs. Then I gradually weaned them. Maybe Cait need to go on her meds longer. But I definitely don't envy her. The meds did make me sleepy and I had to try super hard to keep up my grades.

take care and hugs again. Hopefully the EEG came out fine and she might not need any medication.
