A smallish world irony....

I was at the gym today (yes the one I can't afford and spend too little time in as I am now the same weight I was when Roan was full term....sigh). Anyhoo...I was chattin' with this lovely young mother and we got to talking about pediatricians.
We currently have a family doc whom I love, but there are enough "issues" arising within the practice (ie: big turnover and now the nurse practitioner is leaving). All nothing to do with him as it's a hospital lead practice. I have been contemplating moving the kids back to a pedi, but have had little luck finding a solid one that wasn't part of a giant practice around these parts.
My current doc is great, but I swear if he asks if Cian's dx is correct again, I'll pop him one;)
So this Mum and I are blabbing and she mentions her ped is a single doc practice, and he has TWO kids on the spectrum....well you can imagine how quick my head snapped up from the dreaded treadmill lcd display!!!
So I check the ped's website out tonight and low and be bleeden hold his oldest ds was in Liam's sc class last year and in camp with Liam last summer!!!!!! In fact he started this year in Liam's class and then vanished. Rumor has it he's in a private ASD school.
Methinks it's fate y'all, and if not.....I'm renaming it fate. I'm calling tomorrow.

That Gym membership just paid for itself. Even if you never, ever go back there, that one piece of information is probably worth the annual fee.
A physician who understands the Spectrum is worth his weight in gold. Peter's podiatrist has an Autie a year older than Peter and it is an absolute pleasure to take Pete to these appointments because the doctor Just. Gets. It. on that very deep instinctual level at which Autie parents operate. We just had a visit there this week, and Peter left the office glowing, despite the new and uncomfortable orthotics in his sneakers.
And of course, because my life is NEVER boring or straightforward: The fecker was just arrested for fraud! I was whining to Jim the other night: "what will we do if he is convicted? Peter will never let another podiatrist near him. Especially now"
So hang onto that doc and pay all your bills on time to keep him on the straight and narrow ;)

Dee, I don't think anyone outside of "our world" would understand how thrilling this must be!
