And basically I think it comes down to the aide issue again.

Mike has this big map project that was supposed to be done mostly IN CLASS (general ed). It is due this next thursday. Honestly, I figured since I hadn't heard about it, it was being done in class. Not until last week had I seen it at all. Once last week it came home with the "if you have time after math and could do some it would be great". That night was class and Mike melted over the math so I skipped the map figuring no biggie.

It was sent over the weekend and we were supposed to work on it. My goof. I completely FLAKED on the whole thing. However, since it was supposed to be being done for over a month in class I figure well no biggie, most of it is done.

Heck he had even been working on it in his SDC time for the past week.

Tonight I break it out to work on and only 3 out of 20 sections are done at ALL. Those 3 sections had been in SDC. SO the entire time since DECEMBER that they had to work on this in GENERAL ED. he had DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The MAJORITY of the time they have been working on it is the past 3 WEEKS when he has had NO AIDE!

He tells me he was "confused" and "Didn't know what to do". The aide about then started taking loads of sick days so really since about late decemember he has been too often going short staffed and now it is obvious. Funny thing is now he is learning to control his anger so instead of him melting down in class he hasn't been doing the work and I guess since he wasn't yelling it got overlooked. GEEZ!

So here we are stressing out, melting down and trying to finish it all in 3 nights a project that was supposed to be done over 2 months with a kid whose fluency (speed) is in the 1st percentile with minimal modifications so far made on it.

ALL BECAUSE HE HASN"T HAD A STINKIN AIDE!

They are getting a call tomorrow. If there isn't an aide in there by the end of the week I am filing a compliance complaint.
