Hello and welcome to the board,

Nathan sounds like he has some red-flag issues for Autism/Aspergers, but then again a lot of the stuff you mentioned could be due to other issues, such as sensory issues and/or

I don't know what it is, but I do know that you need to get him evaluated and find out. Mummy instinct is always right in these cases. I 'knew' since he was about 8mo that something was not quite right, and I was convinced of it at about 3, but we struggled for years until we got a diagnosis of Asperger's at 8 and it all fell into place (I'm not saying your son has Asperger's, I'm just saying that if/when you do get a proper diagnosis it will probably make much more sense to you).

don't self-diagnose though: as useful as self-help and information is, it can also be a lot of red herrings and blind alleyways without professional input. And even professional input isn't always helpful: we had a lot of stuff around 'sensory integration', ADD, Dyspraxia etc from well-meaning but ultimately misguided professionals who were guessing without proper evaluation and getting it wrong.
