SpecEd is expensive around the holidays

So I decided to get personalized ornaments for everyone involved with the kids education. I just dropped over $100 on ornaments and then realised that I forgot some. Here is the list of people for whom I buy little gifts:
Teachers (2)
Aides (3)
SLPs (2)
Consultant SpEd teacher (1)
OT (1)
PT (1)
Bus drivers (2)
Daycare provider (1 family)
Daycare aide (1)
That's 14. it does not include the librarians (2) the regular ed teachers in whose classes Peter is mainstreamed (2), the Art(1), music(1) or PhysEd(2) teachers or the lunch and recess helpers(unknown).
Should I get something for the other folks? Where is the line?
-Paula

Paula,
WOW!! That's amazing! I never have enough money to do that! The only time I bought a gift was when Nathan was in preschool. That's when Nathan got dx'd by the neuro and also had an eval done with the school district. It was a hectic year for us.....and also for his teachers. He had 2 of the sweetest girls. They were both in their 20's and were really great with the kids. So, at the end of the school year (not at xmas time), I gave them each a small gift and also a card with a note about how much I appreciated everything that they did for Nathan.
Otherwise, that was it! lol I just always seem to be broke at xmas time!!!LOL

I bake cookies for the masses and only the actual teachers and those who have made a real difference in my kids lives get a small gift. So Actually getting gifts this year are
Mike's teacher
Mikes 1:1,
Emily's teacher,
Dave's teacher,
school principal (she has earned one from me)
and Dr. Sarah (private psychologist
The rest are getting little personal plates of cookies
2 other aides in Mike's SDC
Cait's teacher
Cait's aide
SLP - maybe
I am not sure if I am going to give Cait's teacher, aide and SLP anything as I don't think they do in middle school anymore. The DIS service providers for Mike (Autism specialist, OT, SLP) this year are only providing consult services. It is really Mike's teacher and aide that do everything so I doubt they will get anything either. The SLP will likely get cookies because I have just signed an assessment plan for Mike and am about to sign one for Dave. Won't hurt to get on her good side, lol. Besides, she was good with Cait

i am in the same boat. but with preschool and still having a home team for both boys, ours looks like this...
2 school seits
1 home seit
1 school speech
2 home speech
2 school ot
1 home ot
1 school pt
1 school aide for matt
5 aides in austin's class!
1 home psych
2 bus drivers
2 bus aides
that equals 21!!! i am giving about 8 $5.00 starbuck cards to the main ones, the rest are getting a nice xmas card. but good grief, paula is so right.

Your right about the preschool thing. My numbers have dropped huge this year because Dave has moved onto Kindie and Cait has moved onto middle school. Last year there were another 2 teachers and 5 aides and SLP for Dave, teacher, aide, RSP, SLP, and 2 resource aides for Cait.
Renee
Yeah, that it was a shocker for me this year, too... I'm a SAHM so I never had to get gifts for any teachers/aides/daycare providers before -- and now all of a sudden we have Team Sylvie to buy for!
2 bus drivers
1 teacher
1 classroom aide
1 OT
1 ST
Compared to everyone else's list, that doesn't seem so bad! But it still feels like I had to drop a lot of cash. We got $5 Starbucks gift certificates for everyone but Sylvie's teacher; for her I got a larger gift certificate to Target that she can use either for herself or for classroom supplies.

WOW, you really have alot to buy for. The kids have 5 therapists and share 2 which works out well for us. I have been really busy recently and told my DH to pick up some gift certificates for a local restaurant. Big mistake! He went off and bought 5 gift certs for $50 each. I mean I think they deserve it but I hadn't planned on spending that much.I'm going to need a good stiff drink next month when I get our credit card bill(LOL).
Teresa
ouch, couldn't you take them back to the places and ask for 2-$25's instead?
my dh did that once when i sent him to get something, he came back with something too big.
