Hi Renee, I totally agree. I am anxious to see what the school comes back with as they did a speech eval as well. Now the slp at Children's did a higher testing eval, not just a basic, since she said talking with me getting a feel for his intelligence that he seemed like a smart kid (he is actually reading books now - in a matter of weeks he picked it up). She was thinking that if she tested at a basic level that nothing would be found, when she went higher, she found the social language deficit. I dont look at it as a doomsayer :), I would rather know where he is lacking so we can build this into his IEP and I can (with the right help) also work with him at home too, plus social skills groups, etc. We should have the official report soon so I will add more detail, but the numbers I am sure of.

Hey Dee! We are definitely going for the aide, the SLP at Children's even said an aide would benefit Nick, her in addition to his dev. ped are both putting it into their reports. We are off to the PT and OT evals on Wed.
