Anyone here taking Strattera for the ADHD?

Tristan just started taking today, and I was just curious as to how well it worked. Our therapist has (unofficially) told us that she knows many people - both kids and adults - that this has worked wonders for. Plus, our psych. had told us in the past that she wanted him on something that was a non-stimulant. Well, that's what this is, so Michael brought it up with her last night. Being off the Tenex, his moods are just too unstable. He isn't too active or antying, it's just mainly his moods. So, he reminded the psych of what she had said, and asked about this. He came home with more than a month supply and directions on how to work him up to his target dose.

Just looking for anyone else who might have experience with it. Thanks.

Mike was in the study trials for strattera last year so he was on it and I met a large number of other kids on it as well.

Mike was on a number of ADHD medications for 2 years. Of all those strattera worked about the best.

my daughter, suzanna, who is 14 started taking strattera about a month ago. she started on a low dose (25mg) because she also takes meds for epilepsy. she just started taking 75mg about 3 days ago and she is having problems with nausea about 1 hour after taking it.

i am waiting for teachers conferences to get feedback on results.

i will keep you posted

After a lifetime of ADD (36 years)two months ago my dr. put me on 80 mg of Strattera after I saw good results in my son. I love it! I can clean an entire room without being distracted (a first!)and can focus for long periods of time. In the beginning, Strattera made me exhausted for about a week, but my dr. said it was because I was finally focusing and getting tired from paying attention to things. The other thing I find is if I get distracted and return to task, a first for me. So I love it. I've tried a lot of ADD drugs and none have worked like this and without side effects.

My 9.5 year old son is on it for Aspergers because of its anxiety component 40 mg since June. Like Renee said it works the best out of all these types of meds but when he's having a bad week, there's nothing that's going to work well (except boarding school in a foreign land - LOL). He's also taking Luvox 100 mg, which increases the effects of Strattera, so we can keep him on a lower dose of Strattera.

Good luck.
