It's so hard, especially in the beginning, to have hopes for the future when you're dealing with ASD.

I would try a social skills group setup with him. This is where an adult weither it be yourself a teacher or better a professional they would sit down with him and other kids besides his brother and teach him how to play. Its a skill that is typically missing.

If he has a service plan through early intervention you might be able to get it included under social skills.

At our last Dr's appt we were talking about what the future would be like, she said because we have worked so hard with Nathan the last few years & continue to do so then it will be better that if we had just sat back.
