STUPID cinema manager

I'm so sorry I have to vent here, but this is about the only place where you will 'get' this!

Took everyone to the cinema, and this was already going to be a huge palaver because DS 9, Asperger's, has to be in the theatre well before the movie starts so he can get used to the dark and the sounds and the sensory overload, and DS2 (5) and DD (2) have to be there in plenty of time to assure that popcorn purchases and trips to the loo and searches for booster seats are all allowed for....anyway, it was the opening weekend, staff were really not up to scratch, it took us over half an hour to get through the foyer, the movie was about to start, DS1 is anxious and flapping everywhere and the cinema manager wouldn't let us sit down because there was a problem with one of our tickets (a problem caused by *their* booking system

I was getting stressed just reading your post, because I lived in the UK and I could just *see* it all! OMG Kirsty! You poor thing!

You did absolutely the right thing by putting Euan's needs ahead of that silly man's. And I'm glad he enjoyed the movie in the end. It's one of my favorites (I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss...")

(((Hugs))) I am sorry you had a crappy experience with the manager. Poop on him. In the end I am glad that you had a decent family experience, though the mgr seemed to do everything to prevent it. Argh. People.

I hate it when people think they know what you need more than you do. It really really upsets me.

(((More hugs)))

I'm so glad it turned out well in the end.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG As Paula said I was getting majorly stressed out listening to all of this and going thru the whole thing in my mind with my own kids!!!

I would seriously sit down and type out a big FAT letter addressed to him and his boss and tell them everything you said here.

Hi and wow.

Don't know if this would work for you and your ds, but we carry son's ipod just for these kinds of STUPID moments, and I just let him know that I have to take care of something and he should put on his music so as not to be bothered by it and I will take care of things. Sometimes he also has to sit on the ground at that point, but hey why not, he's not bothering anyone sitting on the ground!

But man, that was a STUPID manager. Ugh.
