sweet thought from my Aspie boy

Today as we drove to Joel's old school to drop off his sister, Joel asked,"Mom how come Mrs. Black (the principal) thought I was chosing to be bad?" (we left the private school 2 years ago when they labeled his bahavior as "bad choices" - long story . . . )
I explained "Back then she was ignorant," (long discussion on the word ignorant abbreviated here) "She did not know enough about you to understand you and help you." "Daddy and I didn't know how to help you very well then either."
A pause, then he pipes up, "Don't you think we should go back and tell her (the principal of the old school) now?"
I'm so proud of my sweet kid!

Paula,
That was so sweet. Our kids are always so honest and direct, aren't they? I love that about them.

That is sweet. He sounds like a sensitive soul.

Kids are so forgiving even when we can't be, and shouldn't be. How did that turn out btw??
My son always looks at things on the bright side as well....when his step-brother has to leave for his mom's house and everyone is upset, my son will pipe up and say "It's ok he will only be gone for x amount of days...and then he will be home again."
I just love my little special boy!!
