Do any of you know of any support boards or groups for teens with PDD/NOS or Aspergers? My 16 yo dd was diagnosed earlier this year. I think it helps her to understand why she does, and thinks, sometimes, but I'm wondering if it might be helpful to her to have someplace she could go to post questions and get feedback. TIA

There have been a couple but they are always really slow. My kids joined one started by a mom and there was a fair number of kids that joined but they really don't post much.

I think it is an ASD thing, they just aren't great communicators and don't feel like discussing AS all that much. Now neopets, my dd could post there all day long if I let her.

There is one teen boy on another asperger board I help moderate, however, I probably would check that one out extensively before letting ehr join. THere are lots of adults and sometimes the posts can get snippy. I let Cait post there for a while when it was a bit more mild and there were some more laid back adults with AS there but I don't let her anymore. It is a good board, don't get me wrong. Just not sure it is appropriate for kids though we have had teens there often and we often get young adults.

There is also wrongplanet I have to look up the link but there are lots of young adults with AS there as well and teens too I think.

Thanks! I did some searching and found wrongplanet, but didn't know much about it. I'll have to see how she feels about posting on these sites.

Hi my dd is almost 14 in 9th gr.& would also be interested in something like this as she likes to spend time on the computer. I'll check out wrongplanet & maybe tell her about it. I think the OASIS website has links to a teen group. I can't remember 'cause its been a long time since I went to the site. My dd was diag. in 4th gr. Girls aren't common w/ Aspergers and or PDD. I lurk here & post when i have time. Take Care~ Mary Ann
