I posted awhile ago seeking input about putting my daughter into preschool (special ed) in our town after the birth of my baby. Everyone here was really encouraging and I was feeling pretty hopeless and unsure. THings had gotten pretty bad once the baby came. Well I decided to send her and she is doing really well. SHe had some quirky things going on - only wearing 2 fancy dresses, etc but now she is wearing clothes, taking the bus, is happy at school, happy when she gets off the bus, a little tired and cranky in the evening but overall so much better. Thanks for all your support. What a great group!!

I'm glad we could help. Life with a SN kid is plenty eventful enough, if we can smooth the way soem for th epeople who come after, then it was worth it. That's how I feel, anyway.

I was wondering where you disappeared too!! I'm glad things are going well for your dd. So she likes preschool? How are the teachers? My son has his little quirks for school too. I think he only wears about 4 different shirts and sweats. He also has his morning routine before school too. He's also pretty tired when he gets home, he needs his down time to relax.

Glad to hear an update. Hope things continue to go well.

From what I hear she likes being at school. The teacher says she is very happy there. The teachers seem good, not sure if they totally understand the autism spectrum, but I don't know if you really do until you are a parent to a kid affected by it (I am actually an OT and had a few years experience with SI before my daughter was born). A psychologist went to observe her Friday so I will be looking forward to her report. I'll try to stop by soon to say hello and see how others are doing. We are looking forward to an appointment with A DAN doctor, not for chelation but to run some testing and see how her immune functioning, etc is. I'd like to incorporate some more biomed approaches. Anyone else have any experience?
