I've been pondering what to write in my teacher request letter, and I've been thinking about the kinds of help that I believe Henry needs. I already decided to do as much with him as I could over the summer re self-help skills.
I'm going to be leading the school-age group of teachers' children at my church's Mother's Day Out program this summer. It's two days a week--Mondays on-site at church and Thursdays off-site wherever I decide to take them. I've already got very sketchy lesson plans written. We're going to do a craft of some sort each Monday, do a Science experiment, read aloud, play games, etc.
It just hit me a few minutes ago when I was thinking about how I could find a Social Skills group for Henry this summer--
I'm going to make this class into his Social Skills group. There will be approximately 10 children from age 7 to 10. I'll just tailor the activities a little bit more toward some specific social skills and--VOILA!
Thoughts? Ideas for activities? I think I have some books I could use.
