You know my 10 yr old does stuff and his 7 yr old brother copies. At least I used to think so. But lately he has been showing tics, punching himself in the head, making sounds ect..... so I think he needs to be tested next.

Are you sure your youngest doesn't have any of the same traits as your oldest?

You know my 10 yr old who is still being tested, would say something like your older one. It used to bother me, but then It didn't because I knew he didn't mean it. His actions do not match what he says.

Hey, the reason I wondered and started thinking about Aspergers recently, And also came here, is that he said something VERY innappropriate at school in OCT, and I thought what an odd and shocking thing to say, but you know, its not really odd and shocking coming from my son... It was bad, the school freaked. NOw that I have a NP who has found his Dysgraphia, and says he has traits of AS, and is still testing, he has helped me, and it all makes sense.

Don't be afraid, they say weird things that don't make sense. That is the thing that keeps my sanity, because they would never do what they say they want to do you know? But for us NT's, its hard to hear.

I hope I helped.

I actually had Nathan tested for AS and sensory integration dysfunction.

oh, my! I was LOL! at David's bloody knife comment-- I know it's not appropriate but it's creative (Weston wouldn't come up w/ anything that creative-- he's just say something about "why? Mom's not beautiful!") My Owen would probably say something similar to Nathan when it came to a party. He has no tolerance for waiting esp in a noisy situation. He also has been around older kids way too much and has a smart mouth on him!

hang in there. I think I tell too many people about autism in our family, but I don't think it's something to be ashamed of, something to understand, learn to live with and over come the obsticales.

Wow, I didn't know about the mood disorder. That must be so hard to deal with at times.
That would stress me out too.
