Thought I'd give an update on dd and the situation with the aide giving her bruises. The level one investigator said the charges were "founded" and turned it over to the level two investigator, a police investigator. He finished his interviews and is taking it to the district attorney. The DA will decide if charges should be filed against the aide and what those would be. We should hear in about 4 days.

Yes, Hannah is being unschooled. She's doing a lot of essays as she calls them. :) In other words writing little short stories and drawing pictures. Yesterday she figured out how many days till Christmas and made a Happy Holidays poster. She's been reading about kittens and also doing lots of arts & crafts. I've just been letting her lead and supporting what ever she wants to do. I did suggest while we were out at the library the other dy that we stop at the food pantry and help out for a while. Surprisingly she said yes. I think her meds are finally kicking in. She seems happier the past few days. She was actually excited about ballet on Monday. She was the second one there. Her cousin, ie security blaket, wasn't there yet. Normally she'd sit with her head down looking nervous and asking where's Claire, untill she got there. This time she looked at the other girl and asked her if she wanted to go into the studio! I was impressed. We are still having sleep problems. She is now only not sleeping about every other night. Improvement but ugh, I need my sleep or I get migrains.

Yes, the 4th reply in this thread is from me talking about how Hannah is doing and the homeschooling. We decided to unschool for a while. I tried getting her to do typical school work for one day when we first started and she completely shut down. So I knew I needed to take a different approach with her. The supervising teacher we are working with said he reccomends 1 month of detox from school for every year a child was in school but for Hannah he's reccomending two months per year of school. Some days I think unschooling is great and all kids should be unschooled and other days I think what AM I doing???

Sorry for not reading the whole thread :)

I guess, I am being forced into homeschooling. My DS has been suspended for 7 days of school so far this year. He's not learning a thing and has gotten super aggressive as a result. At home, he's almost docile.

I've gotten an attorney, but really I can't afford the whole fight. I feel like a failure.
