Dh said it went really well. Kyle didn't want to come home after lunch so dh let him stay till 5:30. Dh said he worked hard and never once said he was bored. They worked on the float for the 4th of July parade. It’s not really a float but they are building a pyramid out of old computer cases and putting it in the back of dh's truck. Then dh showed Kyle how to print flyers 10 at a time. Dh said he didn't explain concretely enough why he wanted them printed that way, incase the ink ran out they'd catch it before the wasted a ton of paper. So Kyle printed like 40 illegible sheets because the ink ran out. Kyle said at school when the ink runs out the printer stops working and he though dh's would do the same. Then Kyle took inventory and dh's employee showed ds how to sort some memory cards or something I knew nothing about. Kyle is totally psyched about the $ he made. He did start obsessing about getting paid and me taking him to the store, a 45 min drive, to buy a computer game. We were expecting that. Dh said he'd pay him today but from here on out pay day is the Monday after the work week. I told him there was no way I was taking him to the store last night or today so he might as well stop. He took it surprisingly well and did just stop. I know today I'll have to tell him a day and time I am taking him shopping or he'll loose it. The only other minor thing is Kyle said he wants to work all day every day so he can make the same amount of money each day. I never expected that kind of reaction. In fact I expected to have to force him to go to work. I told him he's still a kid and he can't work full time, lol. Dh and ds worked out an every other day schedule. He'll go in and stay as long as there is stuff to keep him busy. Dh also explained he'd get paid for however many hrs he worked so could be a different amount each pay day. He seemed to understand that and accept it even though it’s kind of vague. I guess we'll see. Dh & I were both very impressed with how well he did. Dh said he really enjoyed having him there :) :)

Samantha,

That is awesome news. I was going to suggest a set work schedule, but then reading further, I see he is handling the uncertainty very well, which is AWESOME.

"Say, could your DH use a nutty inventor helper from NY in about 8 years time?"

I'll have to ask him. What kind of stuff does he like to invent?

Right now, he "invents" scrapes and messes mostly, although that is an improvement on the poisionings and injuries he "invented" a couple of

He and mike should work together. That is mike's plan too. Most of the same inventions too! I don't see mike doing the throw up car. That would freak him out, lol.

You forgot about the hover board though. And our robot is going to be like the robot in Zathura but will protect Mike and not be defective.

Sounds like he did awesome! Isn't it great and yet sad when they grow up?

Cait had her first full day of volunteering yesterday. She seemed to have a ton of fun. I wasn't able to ask how it went because all the instructors were out on a lesson or getting ready for one when I picked her up. I will get there a little early next week.

However she was SOOOOO tired that when she was doing her chore (folding laundry) she was laying on the couch and folding sooo slow, lol. It is going to be a good thing for her this summer.
