Thanks for the advice regarding Chase and shared time with the public school system. I sat down with him and asked if he liked going and he says he really enjoys it and would be sad if he didn't go so I'm using that as my barometer for now. They have been working with him on his math skills(regrouping and the like). The two other boys that are in there are actually there for speech and reading. Chase is a great reader and sits with them to help them read and sound out words. This gives Chase interactive time with them which is great.
Today was the first day he rode the bus. When I say the first day I mean Chase has never taken a bus to or from school. The private school he attended previously had no bus service. I must tell you I was very nervous. He is the only child on the bus and with all the exploitation of children these days it really worried me. I dropped him off at school but the bus brought him home so my husband and I parked the car where Chase wouldn't see us as he came out of school just to see how he handled everything. Naturally I chatted with the bus driver( a male) to let him know we'd be watching and why and that I might be doing this occasionally to just check up on Chase (and him). Things went smoothly and Chase came skipping out of school and got right on that bus without an ounce of trepidation and smiling from ear to ear. YAY! It's the little things you know.

Yay Chase,
Isn't to funny when they just get on with things and we are the ones left in nervous knots:)
I adore Liam's busdriver.
That's so great that Chase is doing well with the bus!! I still take the boys to school. I'm too nervous for Nathan to do the whole bus thing. But I haven't heard good "bus stories" around HERE....especially with the special needs kids. So, I think it's best I keep taking them. Actually, I HAVE too! Both boys are going to schools that are not considered our home school.....so I have to provide transportation...lol
The boys are at 2 different schools this year. So, it has been hectic running to both schools. It is nice to see Nathan being so comfortable at school. He's been at the same school now for 3 years and his familiarity really shows....its nice.
