This week has been very bad for Kyle at school. Yesterday after school he seemed really down. We were able to perk him back up before bed. He seemed fine at bed time and we tucked him in like usual. After we tucked him in he flipped out and ripped all his bedding off. He wouldn't tell us what was wrong. We litteraly had NO idea. He slept on his bare mattress. He went to school ok but started in there right away. He wouldn't eat lunch and said he wanted to die. He told them that many times. The called me at 2pm to pick him up. He told me he wanted to die too. I called the Doctor and she called him in prozac and xanax. She said I could take him to the hospital if I wanted. I don't want to do that though. I am scared. I'm keeping him home from school at least for tomorrow. I can't believe things have gone this bad. The doctor is also refering us to child psychiatry.
Pray for us.

I know how you feel hon.
i will keep you in my prayers. please try to do something for yourself - a quiet cup of tea, phone call to a friend, long shower, paint you nails- something for you. with all the choas you must be centered because everyone relies on you.
things were very, very bad when i put son on meds. prozac made a huge difference til it was time to try something else. it's a scary time when you decide to try meds. many moms have been there so this is a great place to come to for info and support.
(((((HUGS))))) we'll keep you in our prayers! hope things look up for Kyle soon!

Samantha,
first of all I would start journalling his day from now on. Just a few lines , how he got up, mood etc, during school ( as beat you can as you're not there), how he came home, bedtime etc. Get an appt with a child psychiatrist as soon as poss, as the meds the ped rx may not be the right ones in the long run. Xanax is always a great stop gap but something else may be better for the long haul.
I have so been where you are now; meds, a good pdoc and patience are a great assett. email me if yiou need to; I am here, liam330@windstream.net

Samantha,
I was so sad to see your topic and post. I really know you guys needed a break and I was hoping things were going to continue to look up for Kyle. I really hope the meds and a new doc can really help.
