This week has been very bad for Kyle at school. Yesterday after school he seemed really down. We were able to perk him back up before bed. He seemed fine at bed time and we tucked him in like usual. After we tucked him in he flipped out and ripped all his bedding off. He wouldn't tell us what was wrong. We litteraly had NO idea. He slept on his bare mattress. He went to school ok but started in there right away. He wouldn't eat lunch and said he wanted to die. He told them that many times. The called me at 2pm to pick him up. He told me he wanted to die too. I called the Doctor and she called him in prozac and xanax. She said I could take him to the hospital if I wanted. I don't want to do that though. I am scared. I'm keeping him home from school at least for tomorrow. I can't believe things have gone this bad. The doctor is also refering us to child psychiatry.
Pray for us.

I know how hard having Malcolm in a school placement that went more and more wrong for Malcolm and didn't get fixed made him get more and more stressed and anxious to the point that he was losing ability to function. It was totally awful. Aren't you still in the school that isn't working out, even though of course I remember they are all trying so hard... but he really may need another program or school?
Once we had pulled Malcolm and started to set up homeschooling, it took quite awhile for him to calm down BTW. And he is still processing what happened, although he is MUCH happier now and I would say completely back to himself.
Malcolm still struggles with anxiety, Zoloft has helped although we could wish for it to be alot more effective... but the best thing is him being in the right environment and back to support and challenges appropriate for where he is at right now.
Anyways, good luck and (((((more hugs)))).
