Visit update! (and sad children)

Particularly Dave. I think he and Isaac are kindred spirits. All the way home from the airport he had SUCH a long face, poor guy! Debbie, Dave would like to know when you are coming back. Cait has Isaac set as the wallpaper on her cellphone and now is giving me the "I don't feel good, don't want to go to school routine". She is just sad, lol. Poor kid!

It was pretty darn interesting seeing the kids get together for a few days. Over all they had a good time. Isaac mixed right in with our zoo and made like a little brother darn quick. He learned some new behaviors I feel bad about sending him home with though. Poor Deb! I think Isaac will be saying "Shut up Michael!" in his sleep. Can't say as I blame him either.

For those who wanted to hear about the visit. We picked up Deb and Isaac on Saturday at the trainstation and then dropped off their stuff and went to pick up Cait from Reins. Unfortunately we missed her lesson, but we got to see the horses and watch her do a bit of REINS work. She was pooped as they had been short handed that day and they LOVE to make her work!

Then I took them to a local mexican meat market/store to buy some carne asada for dinner. Well now that is something one just has to see. I am sure Isaac will long remember the cow tongues and hoves that were in the case. Good thing he didn't see some of the other lovelies. Let's just say it is a cultural thing to not waste anything. I freaked my neice out once the same way LOL. A bit of evil in me eh?

Sunday was the zoo. Not ours but the SD zoo. We definitely saw the monkeys! The cutest thing had to be Mike holding hands with Isaac at the end to help him up the hill. Of course there were times Isaac just wanted a break but Mike kept wanting to help him, maybe a bit too much. It was alot of walking but I think we have fostered a new snake obsession for Isaac.

Monday the kids went to school, much to their dismay, but we took them too the beach after and met Molly there. They really WEREN"T going to go in the water. HONEST. But while they were just getting their feet wet a big old wave decided to change that and got them wet. Well soon they were practically swimming in thier clothes. It was near 90 so it was an ok thing to do. Then they dug in the sand. They were building castles and looking for sand crabs. My kids kept trying to dig where the waves were washing in. It was kind of funny watching Mike trying to clear out the water from the hole as another wave would come in, lol. But they were NOT moving!

Right about the time Isaac decided he had had enough, Mike got hit in the foot with a surfboard. I forgot to warn poor Deb about Mike's issues over injuries. He kind of obsesses on them and the worst are any that cause bleeding. Well he got a scratch from the board and it is a darn good thing beaches are so loud because we would have turned some heads. We may have turned heads, I don't know. didin't notice. We decided it would be a good time to go get an icecream. We ate out near the place were we got the ice cream while Mike ate in the car and recovered, mostly. It was actually a quick recovery for injury thingie for him.

Deb and I also watched Mozart and the Whale together. That was fun, complete with popcorn. Had a few beers. Did a few chats. etc.

Tuesday I left the poor things here alone and they got themselves ready to leave. Almost didn't get them to the airport ontime as the SD highways decided to put an accident in our way making a typically 45 minute drive 1 hour and 45min. I guess we just really didn't want her to leave.

That was the visit. We had a good time Deb! Hope it isn't too cold back home! Tell Isaac the kids miss him!

It sounds like a great visit. I wanna come visit too. Hannah keeps saying she wants to go to California. I'm glad you guys had such a good time.

How was Mozart & The Whale? I've been debating on seeing it or not. It didn't get great reviews.
