Ok, this made me a bit curious. Nathan walks differently than he used too. I was walking behind him the other day, as we were walking into a store. Nathan was holding on to his dad's hand, and I was walking behind them with Tyler. It's not that he's having any physical problems, it's just that he can't seem to stop fidgeting as he walks. Does that make sense??? It's kinda hard to explain really. He seems to have shifted his weight more towards the front of his foot. He's not actually walking on his toes though. His shoulders seem to scrunch together and his arms can't stop moving around....his body is also moving. Now he doesn't do this if he's calm and walking slowly. But I've noticed that his walk tends to change depending on his mood.
Have your kids changed how they walk as they got older? Or even how they "carry" themselves? Because, overall, Nathan seems to have changed. I hope this makes sense. Now that I read it, I'm not sure it does.

Hmmm,
I'll have to look at them and see. Peter rarely actually *walks*, He runs, skips, bounds, darts, sidles, dances, spins and wanders -usually with hands and sometimes head going as well.
Siobhan usually walks. I don't think her walk has changed, but I will look and see.

Paula,
Yeah....Nathan tends to dart, hop, run, jump, etc.....all kinds of movement goin' on here too!! LOL He only "walks" when he's really calm. Ya know, now that I think more about it, he almost walks like he's stressed about something.....all tensed up.
I'm probably not making any sense, am I?! Well, let's see if anyone else out there knows what I'm talking about. Otherwise....I might need some glasses...or wine...or more sleep. Maybe if I just stop WORRYING ALL THE TIME!!! LOL

Well, the one with walks that change has always been Cait. However, for her the neuro thought it related to what she called her "movement disorder" which could either be Cait's tics or her dyspraxia.
Lately she has kind of a stiff walk that is hard to describe. Not as stiff as the one last year where she would suddenly go through phases where she would not bend her knees for a bit and then she would again. It is kind of like she adapted that weird once in a while walk and melded it with a more normal-ish type walk that is consistent. It is like half as stiff but more constant. Boy that is hard to explain.
The only time Mike goes through walking issues that are different that I have noticed is when he is obsessing on not stepping on lines or cracks. Thankfully he isn't doing that currently. That gets really old fast because he lags so far behind.
