Way to go Jason!

There was a story on our local news that a high schooler (in New York - I believe) named Jason set a new school record. Jason is HFA and is a helper on the boys basketball team. He is at every practice and game - the team adores him - but he is not a player. The coach told him that he was going to let him play in the next game. Not only did he play but he scored 20 points. 18 of those were 3-pointers!!!! That is SIX 3-pointers!!!! They showed some of the game on the TV - the crowd was going crazy - it was incredible. What a day for Jason - Way To G0!

(I wonder how he handled all the noise and commotion - incredible!)

I just watched it. That is pretty incredible! My DH played college basketball and one of the things that he has told me is that he always hoped his son would play basketball but because Jake has motor planning problems he felt the chances were pretty slim. I'm going to make him watch this video so he understands that nothing is written in stone!

Thanks Guys!

I heard about this last night at Bunco. Some ladies told me they saw it and I was bummed not too. Now I have. It is awesome.

I have to forward this to my SIL. Her little guy is awesome at shooting baskets too.

Holy cow, I LIVE in that town!!! How on earth did I miss that story? Funny, too, because I was watching the news the other night and they were saying that after the break, they were going to do a story about some huge basketball moment... and I turned off the TV, because I'm not at all interested in sports! Thanks so much for passing on that link. So I take it this story got national coverage, then?

What a GREAT story! I emailed this to everyone I know. Plus, it made me so happy that several people called me tonight, not knowing I had seen this, to tell me it was on CBS news. So cool for Jason and his family. He's my hero too!

Read this story in the paper yesterday and cried naturally. Then today at the gym while I was on the crosstrainer they did a big story on him during the halftime show of Indiana basketball game. I almost broke into an ugly cry right there in the middle of Golds Gym. Very moving. Vicky
