We're back and it went pretty good

After a 3 hour meeting I have the HUGEST headache though! But it is done and was successful.
The school agreed to do a C-Toni eval (which is a non-verbal IQ test). The district lady I like actually suggested that we do have it done. They also accepted the report from my private psychologist. So the combination of the C-Toni and executive function test will be able to show her learning profile a little more completely.
The services will stay relatively the same with a few changes. They are reworking how they help her with projects and organization. They are having the aide intervene more and fade out less. They are simplifying her binder system and try to find a system that will work for her. THey are going to work on summarizing and math goals as well as social, and organizational goals.
She will take band next year rather than the social skills group. She will still have an aide with her most of the day. The academics are concerning others as well so that will be a focus.
There was more but my head is exploding.
The district lady brought me the forms to fill out for the diagnostic center eval for Mike. She actually thought it was a good idea. No arguments there. That was easy.

Hey,
Sorry it was so long and glad it went well. It sounds like they have the focus they need, and you don't have to fight them on the placement, so that is good. And you can keep that IEE in your back pocket. I'm glad that psych came to bat for you. it sounds like she did a good job.

Dear Renee,
Just want to add my congratulations as well. I cross my fingers that the educational team starts at long last to make the needed shifts to really teach Cait, here's hoping.
And GOOD JOB, MOM!!! Way to jump back in and necessary wave-make, AGAIN...
