April, Autism Awareness Month, is approaching fast. Are you doing anything?
Since we have a local support group here now I'm doing a lot. We are having a fund raiser for our support group. We're putting our jugs to collect change for the month of april. The jug has some autism info on it.
We are sponsoring a free informational talk for the community. We are having a developemental eye Dr. and a chiropractor who is a DAN! doc. come and speak. I'm making a flyer that will be an insert in the newspaper for the event and also has some awareness info on the bottom.
We are having a booth at a early childhood fair and handing out info. I'm making a tri-fold brochure for that.
We are going to be interviewed for the local paper and the kids' pictures will be in the paper.
Whew! This is the first yr I've done anything and now I'm doing all of that. I'm a bit overwhelmed. Are you doing anything?

Actually, nothing more than the usual this year. Maybe I should get some new bracelets for the kids since we are down to only mine and it is faded.
We have 2 ASA's that are fairly local. My mostly local one I don't think is doing anything for autism awareness. We are too close to San Diego ASA which is a HUGE chapter. So often we get overshadowed. The SDASA is doing an "All out for Autism" thing at sea world or $100 a pop (NOT going). It is to fund thier camp for autistic kids. I am miffed because yet AGAIN they have made the HFA/AS camp after the school year begins so we can't go again.
I need to get more involved again. The meetings are at bad times for me so I haven't been too involved. Then I don't want to go to the family events if I don't go to the meetings and such.
You have gotten me going.
