Hello,
I,ve just picked my son up from school and his teacher has said he seems to be taking steps back rather than forward.he's been removed from assembly for awhile due to loud noises which he had stopped for at least 2 years.Do you think an inexperienced teacher who my son really dislikes could be making progress this year go backwards.has anyone out there had a teacher for your child that has had a negative input. Not sure what to do with this one. He's only 7 weeks left with her until he breaks for summer, but things are getting really bad.Not sure he can cope for 7 weeks.Any help would be very grateful.

My son goes through the same thing. Every time there is a substitute teacher or student teacher we can expect problems. He gave this year's student teacher such a hard time that I jokingly asked if she was considering switching careers! The oddest thing is that when she left he said he was really going to miss her. Go figure. In the past my son's school always assigned him to the strictest teacher available because they see him as a behaviour problem. That "My way or the highway" personality doesn't work with Asperger kids. The new school psych is very knowledgeable in Asperger's and is working on a good fit for him next year.

Hey Yvonne, sorry I bailed on ya in chat today - I had to go get my son from school. :)

I have to say that a teacher can make all the difference.
