Slow? Mine is. It is virtually impossible to rush him to do anything. He absolutely operates at his own pace regardless of what is needed. I am just wondering if this is a AS thing?

Yep, totally! The only time it became a HUGE problem was when 11yo dd was about 1.5-2yo, and we'd taken her to the apartment baby swimming pool. It was pretty deep for a baby pool, and she'd been knocked over and was floating face-down in the water. DH and I were talking to each other, facing each other, and dd was behind me in sight of dh. DH saw her floating but didn't move a muscle. He finally made a comment that made me turn around and look. I leaped up, grabbed dd, and yelled at dh for just watching her drown. He kept insisting that he was trying to get her, and I couldn't believe he'd say such a dumb thing when he'd obviously just been sitting there. In retrospect, I now realize that in his MIND he WAS trying to get her. I'm much more careful when dh is in charge of the kids these days (and now that he better understands his limits, he's careful about what situations he puts himself and the kids in)!

Evelyn:

Not that this has anything to do with the thread so to speak, but my kids are the same distance as yours and seem very much alike as you described

Dominic (7.5 AS), always with the legos, and a made up thing called Star Robots. He has episodes and names and all that jazz and I have to add in the comments at the right time (heaven forbid one dozes off too! LOL). Along comes little brother Nathan (just 4), just doing what he knows how to do (can't imagine why he doesn't have too many playdates with all hte crashing and banging he does!)...

Just funny to see somewhat parellel lives!

Best wishes

Nicole
