What resources are available?

I read a lot about resources people have that are helping their kiddos on the spectrum (autism team for kids not in school? social help? etc.).

All we know about is OT, PT and speech, IEP's/special preschool, and psychologist. My DS "mild" aspergers has nothing right now, and may need an IEP when he goes back to school? No idea. And my DD 3.5 (honestly am lost with what is causing her delays) is going to the preschool through the school district 4 days a week for 2 hours 45 mins a day with OT PT and Speech, and we used to do private therapies until we moved, which we may start up again.

What's available?

Alot depends on which country/state you live in and what kind of area you are at .

Here in Chicagoland, there is a wealth of private services - RDI, ABA, social groups, PT, OT, SLP, special camps, special schools, etc. In Pennsylvania, there are 'wraparound' services where you can get an aide through the state to help work with your child, etc. I don't live there, so I can't tell you exactly what all is entailed. Different states have different programs....

What area do you live in?
